All About Rapp-it

Rapp-it is an instant emergency pipe repair system that is simple to use with no mixing or measuring required. Rapp-it Pipe Repair Bandages have a woven fibreglass substrate impregnated with a water-activated polyurethane resin. In order to provide a strong, secure pipe repair, a 50mm (2”) stick of Rapp-it Steel Putty is included with every Rapp-it Pipe Repair Bandage.

Rapp-it's ability to perform effectively in emergency situations greatly reduces costly downtime and production loss. Because of the product's ease of use, it can be applied by practically any apprentice applicator, and should be made available to all maintenance staff within your industry. Rapp-it Pipe Repair Bandages can produce a successful repair within 30 minutes.

Rapp-it Pipe Repair Bandage Specifications

  • Catalyst: Water
  • Resin Makeup: Polyurethane
  • Heat Resistance: 150° C (300° F)
  • Pressure Resistance: 360 psi (2500kpa)

Rapp-it Steel Putty Specifications

  • Hardness, Shore D (full cure): 75 - 85
  • Heat Resistance: 150°C (300°F)
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters, halocarbons, aqueous salt solutions, and dilute acids and bases


Rapp-it Pipe Repair Bandage Chemical Resistance 50mm (2") Rapp-it Pipe Repair Bandages were rolled to five layers and submerged in the following chemicals for a period of one month. The changes, if any, are outlined below.

Immersion Testing Results
Ethyl Alcohol No visible change. No softening of bandage.
MEK Moderate discolouration. No softening of bandage.
Acetone No visible change. No softening of bandage.
Hydrochloric Acid 30% Severe discolouration (bandage turned deep yellow-green). No softening of bandage.
Sulfuric Acid 92% Severe discolouration. No softening of bandage.
Caustic Soda 50% Slight colour change. No softening of bandage.
Toluene No visible change. No softening of bandage.
Gasoline No visible change. No softening of bandage.
Diesel Fuel Slight colour change. No softening of bandage.
